RIVIERA FIORITA 2025

Sunday, September 7, 2025
The Regata Storica is a traditional and spectacular Venetian event held on the first Sunday of September, combining the charm of a historical parade with the adrenaline of “Voga alla Veneta” (Venetian rowing) competitions. It is celebrated on the Grand Canal and commemorates the triumphal welcome of Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus, in 1489, with boats and rowers dressed in period costumes.
On the second Sunday of September, the Riviera Fiorita is celebrated, a historical reenactment that will take place along the Brenta River. During this reenactment, a parade of historic boats will be organized to commemorate the meeting between the King of France, Henry III, and the Doge of Venice in 1574.
From the windows of our rooms overlooking the Brenta River, you can admire the King of France, Henry III, sailing along the Brenta Riviera from Stra to Malcontenta, followed by the boats of other Venetian nobles and the Doge, parading among a large, cheering crowd.
B&B Ca’ di Fiore is preparing for this great event and reminds you that during this period you can take advantage of a special 3 for 2 package (stay three nights and pay for two).
You’re welcome!

Ca’ di Fiore and the Venice Carnival 2025

The Venice Carnival, one of the most anticipated events of the year, celebrates this year the 300 years of Giacomo Casanova with a special edition entitled “IL TIME OF CASANOVA”, dedicated to the timeless figure of the Venetian.
The carnival will open with the special evening of “St. Valentine’s Day”, Friday 14 February in Piazza S. Marco, to celebrate love and lovers. As per tradition, however, the first weekend will be dedicated to water, with the usual water procession of traditional boats on Sunday 16 February.
For the entire duration of the event, the celebrations will cross the entire city, with outdoor shows in the various fields and squares thanks to the “Venice Carnival Street Show”, which offers a rich lineup of events in Venice, Mestre, the islands of the lagoon and the Municipality.
On Sunday 16 February the long-awaited water procession of traditional boats returns along the Grand Canal, created in collaboration with the Coordination of Rowing Associations of Voga alla Veneta and led by the legendary papier-mâché “Pantegana”.
The Venice Carnival 2025 begins from the water, with the Venetian Festival. Among colored smoke, balloons and confetti, around a hundred decorated and colorful rowing boats are driven by masked rowers who gather at Punta della Dogana around 11:00 to reach the Rialto area. After having sailed the most beautiful waterway in the world, a colorful choreography will envelop the Rialto bridge before the big party in Erbaria.

Ca’ di Fiore is ready to host those who want to reach Venice with joy and ease.

ESTHER IN CA’ DI FIORE

March 31, 2024

The Easter holidays represent for many the first days of relaxation and holidays after the long winter months and an excellent way to unplug could be to spend a few days in the city of Venice.
The city can offer a dream stay to any type of visitor throughout the year. On the Easter weekend, the possibility of finding mild weather, falling in the middle of spring, will allow you to visit all parts of the city, including the islands, on foot or by boat, activities which are not very usual in the winter months.
Visiting Venice during spring is a unique opportunity to make the most of since the city will not be as crowded as during other celebrations, but it will be possible to visit it peacefully.

The Ca’ di fiore Bed & Breakfast, immersed in the new seasonal blooms of its large park, will be an excellent starting point for reaching Venice, considering that you can: leave the car in the villa’s Park for free, move easily by bus and return in the evening to an extremely welcoming place, which will guarantee you relaxation, tranquility and rest.

Curiosity.

Every year Easter (the Christian Easter) falls on a different date, this happens because it is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox, so this anniversary always falls between March 22nd and April 25th .

In other parts of the world the date of  Easter does not coincide because it is  Jewish or Orthodox Easter.

Passover uses the lunisolar calendar; every month begins with the new moon and therefore the full moon always falls on the fifteenth day following.

Orthodox Easter, however, is calculated according to the Julian calendar, based on the cycle of the seasons, according to the real astronomical full moon and the real equinox, observed along the meridian of Jerusalem, the place of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. Every year the holiday can fall between April 4th and May 8th.

WELCOME TO MY HOME
by Philippe de Chauveron. With Christian Clavier, Ary Abittan, Elsa Zylberstein. France, 2017, 92 ‘
Jean-Etienne Fougerole, an engagé intellectual, promotes his latest book on television (“With open arms”). Pressed by the provocation of his rival, a young right-wing candidate (and writer) who invites him to welcome a Roma family home, publicly announces his address and availability, hoping that no one will really take him seriously. But Babik and offspring, gathered around the television, take up the invitation and knock the cash at the gate, trying to integrate with clumsy results and an irreducible resilience like prejudice. After the gigantic success of “Don’t marry my daughters!”, Philippe de Chauveron returns to tackle the themes of integration and racism with irony.

🍽️ dinner + 📽️ film = 25 Euros

FEAST OF THE REDEEMER

On the Saturday preceding the third Sunday in July, a long votive bridge of boats is opened, set up on the Giudecca Canal connecting the island with the Zattere, at the height of the Chiesa dello Spirito Santo, thus allowing the pedestrian access to the church of the Redentore .
At the end of the plague, in July 1577, it was decided to celebrate the liberation annually, with the construction of a votive bridge.
This celebration becomes a tradition that is still active after almost five centuries.
In addition to the religious character, the festival should be remembered for a great fireworks show held in the night between Saturday and Sunday on the San Marco basin and for the three regattas of typical Venetian boats organized the following day, attracting thus a large audience from all over the world. Cà Di Fiore is preparing, for this great event, to host a large number of people who will be able to reach Venice comfortably by bus.
Guests will have the opportunity to leave their car in the large parking lot of the Bed & Breakfast ……… we are waiting for you.
